Icebreaker (Evening - November 20th)
The icebreaker welcome event will be held on Tuesday, 20 November from 6pm-8pm upstairs at The Shaw Davey Slum.
Whether you've just completed a day of workshops or just arrived in Melbourne, this is the event to meet fellow attendees before the conference begins the following day. Canapes will be provided - The Shaw Davey Slum serves up dishes made with the freshest ingredients and an Australiana twist.
Women in Geospatial Breakfast (Morning - November 21st)
The FOSS4G SotM Oceania committee would like to help drive local initiatives to promote gender diversity in our geospatial community.
We believe that empowering our women and minority gender community members to find their voice, share their experiences, and to widen their personal and professional networks is really important for facilitating this change.
To help make this happen, we are hosting a sponsored ‘Women in Geospatial’ preconference breakfast on Wednesday, 21st November. We invite conference attendees who identify as women or minority gender community members to join us for an early breakfast to meet one another, discuss our challenges, and become ambassadors for change.
Registration will open for two weeks from Monday 5th November. Follow us on Twitter @FOSS4G_Oceania, sign up to our mailing list at the bottom of this page, and watch out for the registration link here.
If you would like to be directly notified by email when registration opens or have any other questions then contact us on email@example.com.
We look forward to meeting you!

Conference Dinner (Evening - November 21st)
The conference dinner will be held on Wednesday, 21 November from 6pm-9pm.
Our venue, Brunswick Mess Hall, is a short tram ride north of the University of Melbourne [map]. We'll enjoy an evening in a heritage listed hall with exposed brick walls, vaulted ceilings and a leafy atrium, serving fragrant South East Asian dishes.
This will be the highlight of the social program and a great opportunity to get to know other delegates in one of the vibrant inner city suburbs that Melbourne is famous for.
GeoRabble (Evening - November 22nd)
The social calendar continues Thursday evening with neworking drinks at The Clyde Hotel. GeoRabble is a chance for geogeeks to get together and celebrate ideas and accomplishments within the community. The drinks start at 5:30 pm, November 22nd with presentations beginning at 6:00 pm. Make sure you secure a spot by registering for a free ticket on Eventbrite. If you have an idea you'd like to share at GeoRabble, let the organisers know by sending an email with your thoughts to firstname.lastname@example.org (20 words or less).
